the moment we've been waiting for

Brian is home. And smiling is his corner chair that sits between two windows, looking out at the apple tree. The tree is now aglow in a case of crystal- ice covering every branch, and a snow sillouette over that against a gray sky. Brian looks out the window, takes a sigh and smiles. The last time he saw the tree it was full of leaves. It's been 5 months yesterday since he could sit in his home and look at the familiar surrounding. The old barns, grey boards iced with white, an open field in the midst of beautiful woods. Quiet, peaceful, home.
Bill and Noreen, along with other helpers, have gotten the place in order and done a wonderful job at that. She sits in the room with Brian, a contentedness and rest around her as she watches her daughter and son-in-law come home. It's an icy day, and icicles hang from cars, houses, really anything that has any surface to hang from. I don't think miles of ice would prevent Emily from bringing Brian home today though, nor would any amount of sleep (or lack there of) prevent Noreen and Bill from finishing their home remodeling. Remarkable!

As the car pulled into the driveway, all watched with tears of joy and anticipation. A welcome home sign barely expressed the the feelings behind the worlds. Welcome HOME, you've been gone a while Bri. And now you're here. Life is going to be different, though full. Karissa was a Grandma's, but will be arriving shortly. Family and friends surround each other in all ways. Life is different, life is full, life is good. Live fully dear friends, embracing each day, each other, and those around you who so love you.

A few pictures to see and no more words necessary:

Brian, Emily and Karissa,
I am so proud of you as a family, we went through an ordeal with our little boy 8yrs ago. He is doing very well, as you well know obstacles do get in the way, look forward to tomorrow and live for today. I sit here reading your blogs, have followed you through your ordeal. You are young, strong and very capable of everything that you set your mind to do. Keep up the good work, I am so proud of you all. Enjoy yourselves and have a very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year.

Brian, These pictures are the best pictures I have seen in a long long time. I am so in awe at what you have accomplished since your accident!!!! I am setting here with tears in my eyes, seeing such a wonderful and hoped for sight. You have come such a long way, and I am so proud of what you have accomplished. I have to thank God for all he has done to bring this day to a reality for all concerned!! At last, you are all together, and you are home!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers, and I know that more is yet to come. What a beautiful sight, and the love that you have from your wife, and your family is just beyond words. We all love you Brian, you are just that type of person (probably because you are a twin) that everyone loves when they meet you. You are beautiful too, as well as Emily and Karissa. I am so glad that you are home, and especially for the holidays. May God continue to bless you and your family. Welcome back Brian, and I hope to see you as soon as I can. Love you all. Joan
