home at last

Emily and Karissa made it safely home to Colton after quite an event-filled week at the Ogdensburg hospital. With her family surrounding her and Brian very much a part of the delivery process, Emily had a successful (yet painful)labor. As soon as Karissa's head appeared, not even fully out yet, she turned to Brian and began to sing (i.e. cry, in baby language.) He was able to hold her and feed her and be with her which was a real gift. If you want some more interesting stories, ask Emily and Noreen in person, I think you may laugh along with them hard enough to cry. Suffice it to say, the Keddys are unforgettable wherever they go.
Emily now is staying with her grandmother and her parents have moved in as well as they wait for construction to be finished on their Irish Settlement home. It's good to be back with family, and family are plentiful in these parts! Karissa Briley, a bundle of joy, is a perfectly healthy and beautiful little girl. See for yourself!
Now they wait for Brian's homecoming, and will be visiting him and preparing for this new part of the family. Welcome home little one.

Hello Emily, Brian, and Karissa,

I am so happy to hear all are doing well. Karissa sure is a beautiful baby girl.

Sorry I missed you yesterday but I will be down again at Christmas. (Plus I will be down for a whole week.) How sad is that I only live an hour a way and it sounds like hours.

Well I cannot wait to see you both and meet that beautiful baby girl of yours.

Congratulations and see you soon!!

Emily,
I was so saddened to hear about Brian and so happy to hear about the baby. You are a very strong young woman and you two look so happy together. Love can conquer anything. I have thought of you often since hearing about you two (now 3). It's amazing what we can endure. They told me in Sept. of '04 that I had a yr. or 2 to live. I have been cancer free for 11 months and feel great. Guess I fooled them all.

Best of luck to all of you. Love, Nancy Merkley

HiEmily, Brian and Ms. Karissa,

First, congrats!!!!

What soothing site to see you surrounded by family, and that baby is just adorable, she is well worth the wait. And she is so well traveled already without even knowing!!!!

Patty spoke to Linda and we are so happy to hear that Brian is doing better and the trach is out, that is a plus and a half.

Well, needless to say you all look very content and that is well deserved and everyone sounds like they are rallying. I bet your grandmother is glad to have a new baby in her home, especially at Christmas.

Again, all of our good wishes and I am going to have Patty check with Linda and see what would be the best gift for that beautiful little bundle of sweetness.....if she wouldn't mind give a little bite on either of those cheeks for me! LOL

Take care,
Mickey

I'll continue praying for you all as you adjust to all the new circumstances of your new "normal" life.

God bless.
